About information system

The idea of creating the information system “Archives of Central Asia” (ACA) was born at the International Institute of Central Asian Studies (MICAI) and the project was proposed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The underlying goal was the development of software that could be used by all scientific archivists and institutions collecting, storing and using archival materials from Central Asia.

All databases and software modules of ACA are integrated with each other and have access to our websites and websites of organizations that have kindly provided their archives. The information system can offer its users as a scientific reference apparatus for scientific meetings (lists of funds, registries of inventories, digitized inventories, references and surveys of foundations, etc.), and graphic images of the documents themselves. The ACA database will be constantly updated, and the part that is intended for Internet users will be generated on sites. The ACA has a huge information potential and the realization of the capabilities of the information system depends on the institutions where scientific archives are stored.
